You might have a lot on your plate right now but can’t see the benefits of outsourcing when you don’t have funds to invest.
And sites like Fiverr or Airtasker, as you might know from experience, can be a throw of the dice when it comes to quality and know-how.
The benefits of outsourcing are readily apparent to those of us who are self-employed and are pretty much responsible for paying the bills.
Usually, the freedom to do what you want when you want is a major driving force for those of us in business for ourselves – even in a very competitive online marketing sector.
Sad to say, though, many of us are slaving away at maintaining a business rather than spending the time growing it.
But what if you could hire experienced college graduates with experience for much less than the typical going rate?
And if you don’t think paying a skilled worker $2.50 per hour is an honest option you might want to think again.
There are many so-called ‘3rd world’ countries where the the cost of living is significantly less than in more developed countries like the United States, and a salary of, say, $400 per month is considered a good starting wage.
The low-cost benefits of outsourcing is also increased for both you and the virtual worker because the advantages of working from home can eliminate transportation costs and the need for childcare.
That’s certainly one of the perks appreciated by those of us working from home as online marketers. But these virtual workers – once hired – have the comfort of a regular salary and that’s an added asset in countries where job stability is often not as easy to find as in the West.
It’s not commonly known, but English is the national language of the Philippines (co-equal with Tagalog).
And as a westernized country, virtual workers from the Philippines usually have a better grasp of western nuance, slang and appreciation for pop culture. Good communication is essential for successful outsourcing and, for English-speaking countries, the Philippines is at the top of the list – particularly for those of us on a stringent budget.
You can approach outsourcing in a couple of ways. You can train your new hire in some tasks that you are really good at or you can avail yourself of their expertise when it comes to tackling those tasks in which you have no experience.
When it comes to training you can see how your virtual worker’s capabilities can grow with each assignment. If you have the patience to train over time it won’t be long before you can appreciate the fact that you’ll never have to do that task again.
Of course it’s possible to eventually master skills that you currently don’t possess, but it’s also possible that there are some business skills for which you have no desire to learn – ever.
In either instance, the benefits of outsourcing can help.
