Starting an online business with no money is one of those ongoing discussions in the internet marketing community. After all, there are many, many opportunities out there that promise this after you make a small investment in a course that explains exactly how that is accomplished.

It’s not my purpose here to extol the virtues of any particular course or, for that matter, dismiss the claims or veracity of any particular advice. I would only point out that if you have the resources your life will be a lot easier and, if you have very little money, your going to have to figure out how to grow your business on the cheap.

Starting an online business with no money means you’ll have to do a lot of thinking and strategizing as to how to spend your time to get the best results. Keep in mind that the old adage ‘time is money’ is not just a cliché. It is a demonstrable fact but, for our purposes, we’ll assume that, though your funds are low, you have some time to devote to your new business.

At the end of the day, it’s not a dearth of funds that will kill your fledgling business, it’s a lack of ingenuity and the ability to adjust and scale with skill. To make a steady income, you’ll need to do some thinking outside the box.

Quite frankly, if you already have a good product to sell, you have a considerable part of your business plan completed. But the second half of your efforts, whether you have the money or not, is usually the most difficult: Product Promotion.

Truly, to find the best ways to promote your business can be a lifetime endeavor. It is the sin qua non of any business venture. Whether it happens by word of mouth or advertising on network television, it’s pretty obvious that no product can last long without anyone knowing about it. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to find ways to get your product in front of the right potential customers at the right time and at the right price.

To find these customers you’ll probably need to follow the old baseball adage: ‘Hit ’em where they ain’t.” By that I mean that joining every Facebook group that provides a constant feed of internet offers is probably a waste of your time. If nothing else, you are preaching to the converted or your own competitors. The same can be said of overdoing the traffic exchange route or relying on banner advertisements on 2nd rate ad platforms.

What you should be doing, if you are starting a business with no money, is paying attention to the marketing tips on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and The Warrior Forum as examples. You need to be in constant learning mode and be willing to learn the tricks of the trade. There are numerous no or low-cost services out there, but you need to know how and where to find them.

No doubt, this can be a time-consuming process. But the value of the education you will gain can be a priceless commodity.
